The Synology DiskStation DS925+ is a four-bay Plus-series NAS aimed at home-office, prosumer and small-business storage. It uses AMD's Ryzen V1500B, a four-core, eight-thread x86 processor, paired with 4GB of ECC DDR4 memory that can be expanded to 32GB. Two built-in 2.5GbE ports improve network throughput, while two M.2 NVMe slots can be used for supported SSD caching or storage pools. The chassis supports one DX525 expansion unit, increasing the total number of drive bays to nine. DSM provides Synology Hybrid RAID, conventional RAID options, snapshots, container workloads and virtualization integrations. The V1500B does not provide an integrated GPU, so this model is better suited to storage, backup, synchronization and direct-play media workloads than to hardware-transcoded Plex streaming.
